Families looking forward to a grim 2013

A majority of families believe they will be worse off or at best no better off in the coming year, new research has revelealed.

The Markitt household finance index has revealed that 43 per cent of families think their situation will worsen, while only 24 per cent are expecting an improvement.

Tim Moore, senior economist at Markit and author of the report said: “Households are bracing themselves for yet another year of squeezed personal finances in 2013.”
